Sony Xperia mobile phone | Sony Xperia Z5 Compact | The best smaller phone

Mobile Phone | The Sony Xperia Z5 Compact is smaller but still very powerful. It's good to see a new smaller handset again following the Xperia Z3 Compact.
As well as the some new hardware, the Z5 Compact has the stylish new design.
The processor inside is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 which is a nice upgrade from the Z3 Compact which has a Snapdragon 801.
Colour options are white, black, yellow or coral.

Mobile Phone | Picks from the critics:

Sony Xperia Z5 Compact
The Sony Xperia Z5 Compact is the best small phone around. There are a number of phones offering decent specs for a lot less but then there's not much competition in this area anymore. Those looking for Z5 design and specs in a smaller frame will be pleased but it's a shame about the chunky design with the sharp edges. The fingerprint scanner is a great addition and the Snapdragon 810 with almost stock Android provides slick performance. However, the camera isn't as good as Sony makes it out to be. says pcadvisor

Sony Xperia Z5 Compact
Why Sony’s smartphones don’t have a better reputation. It’s the only big manufacturer that has independent business strands dedicated to phones, TVs, computing, cameras, gaming and music, so by all rights, its phones should dominate.

The Sony Z5 Compact is a step in that direction. In its more compact frame, it barely puts a foot wrong, with a super camera, a decent screen, impressive battery life and generally zippy performance. The side-mounted fingerprint reader is also a genuinely brilliant innovation that you can expect other manufacturers to steal over the next few years.

If you’re after a handset that reduces the bulk without compromising on performance or squeezing in the latest tech, there really is no alternative, it’s a clear winner. says alphr

Sony Xperia Z5 Compact
With a new high-end processor, an incredible battery life and some impressive camera upgrades, it's also worth getting this over last year's Xperia Z3 Compact. The screen is much the same, which is regrettable but does save on your battery. There's much more to like here than to criticise.

If you're looking for a small Android phone right now, this is it. No other phone manufacturer is making high-end devices in this form factor, which is a shame, because the Xperia Z5 Compact is beautifully proportioned. says   techradar
