LG mobile phone | LG G5 - Unique and innovative with design new of its kind

Mobile Phone | The LG G5 is one of the biggest phones to launch in 2016 – and we're not just talking in the Android world. It's one of the heavyweights with the G5's alternative and innovative modular design.

With the LG G5 is an all-metal smartphone, the metal and glass smoothly float together uninterrupted, without an antenna slot.

LG has taken the bold decision to shake things up with the G5. Far from being a new version of the LG G4, the phone is different in a lot of ways.

The modular design of the LG G5 you can't replace or upgrade individual parts. Instead the chin of the phone is removable which, for starters, gives access to the battery It allows users to drop the battery out and load a new one, or you can use it to attach the likes of additional camera hardware, with the "modular expansion system" by LG (something which isn't a feature of the S7). It also means you can add modules should you want to buy them separately.

These modules are called 'LG Friends' and the main one is a clip on battery pack which adds some photography controls called the Cam Plus which is the cheapest at £69. Audiophiles fans will be tempted by the Hi-Fi Plus from B&O which is a DAC (digital to analogue converter) – it costs a bit more at £149.

In General, the future of the G5 and its modules (LG or third party) is unclear so it makes it difficult to come to a conclusion on this element.

The screen is a 5.3ins QHD display and offers a pixel density of 544ppi and a resolution of 2560x1440. (note, It's slightly smaller than the LG G4's screen, which measured 5.5ins)

The LG G5 powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor – something which the chipmaker essentially announced on Twitter before the launch. It's a quad-core chip and has an Adreno 530 GPU all backed up by 4GB of RAM which looks like it will be the standard for many Android flagships this year. Storage sits at 32GB and LG continues to offer expandable storage with the Micro-SD card slot which supports up to 200GB cards.

Both rear cameras can shoot video, and both have stabilization and support recording at 4K. The only box left unchecked is 1080p at 60fps, which is frustrating if that's your preferred mode.

There’s no ability to display two apps at once which is a shame. Instead LG offers Qslide which means certain apps, such as calendar and calculator, can be used in a floating style with a transparency slider.

Mobile Phone | Picks from the critics:

LG G5
The LG G5 is one of the most radical phones to come along in a while and we’re glad the firm has shaken things up with the modular design. The G5 is innovative and interesting with unique features but it’s a shame the design and build feels unfinished in areas. It’s a top-notch device which can hold its own with the best phones in performance and cameras, but it’s LG’s modular design which is the real selling point here. There is bags of potential but the future of this is unclear so it’s hard to be definite right now. The G5 is one of the best phones around but for completely different reasons to the Galaxy S7. Says pcadvisor

LG G5
The LG G5 is one of the most interesting smartphones I’ve seen since the days of the LG Optimus 3D, and for that, I find myself predisposed to liking it. The trouble with the G5 is that, although ingenious, I’m not convinced it’s enough to get consumers to switch from the tried and tested.

People will still love their iPhones and Samsung Galaxy handsets no matter what LG does with its modular battery bay and accessories, simply because those phones are known quantities, and the LG G5 isn’t a big enough step forward.

I think it’s the price that will ultimately undermine the case for the LG G5, however. Buy it SIM free and it’s less expensive than the Samsung Galaxy S7 (but not by much), while on contract, prices are around the same. And yet in most key areas - battery life, camera quality, screen quality, and performance - it’s either on par or slightly behind. If you don’t want to spend this much, the Nexus 6P offers slightly slower performance and a less clever design, but an all-round package that’s almost as good for less cash.

Having said all that, though, the LG G5 is still a great smartphone, and if you’re upgrading from a two-year-old model from any manufacturer, you’ll love the speed boost and camera quality it brings with it, and especially that wide-angle snapper. It’s a five-star smartphone, then, but it isn’t quite the best. says alphr

LG G5
The LG G5's modular party pieces are yet to be fully realized, but away from that you've got a supremely solid flagship smartphone - if only the battery was a bit better. says techradar

Mobile Phone | Black Friday has grown exponentially in the UK in the last five years, after Amazon, and US owned supermarket Asda shifted the shopping bonanza to Britain following it's success in America.

In 2015, on Black Friday, Amazon sold more than 7.4m items in the UK, a record for the company involving sales at a rate of 86 items a second.

This year, starting on 14 November, Amazon intends offer double the number of deals compared to last year. The online retailer said it was extending its promotions, which ran for about a week last year, in response to customer feedback.

Amazon has revealed plans to extend its Black Friday sale to almost two weeks as retailers gear up for the biggest shopping day of the calender year.

Market experts predict an estimated £5 billion will be spent in the week of Black Friday alone this November - but Amazon will be discounting products well in advance - 12 days in the run-up to the 25th.

Customers can get an early start on Christmas shopping with deals available from day one on gifts from HD TVs, phones, and audio products, to must-have beauty buys, stylish home accessories and fashion, and some of the most popular toys of the year. Says Mirror

Mobile Phone

Mobile Phone | Donald Trump's campaign website exposed to hacking

Mobile Phone | Obviously this wasn’t something that the Trump campaign put there, so what happened? Was the site hacked by a nation state that wanted to interfere in the election? No. The truth is far less sensational than that: it was just a bit of bad coding.

Here’s an image you didn’t expect to see on election day: the header of the Trump website plastered with the message “Trump Concedes.”

Mobile Phone

Earlier in the day today, some eagle-eyed developers stumbled across a bug in one of the pages on the Trump site that allowed them to insert whatever text they wanted banner at the top of the page. They didn’t have to gain unauthorized access to do it, either.

That place was right in their browser’s address bar. By altering the URL of the page on the Trump website, people were able to make the banner proclaim everything from “Trump Accepts Defeat” to “I Like Turtles,” a reference to a popular Internet meme.

All they had to do was type in what they wanted it to say in the right place.

Mobile Phone | Partial screenshots - Hidden feature in Android 7.1 Nougat

Mobile Phone

Mobile Phone | Certainly, you can take a screenshot on most Android phones by holding the power and volume-down buttons at the same time. But what if you only want to capture a portion of the screen?

Partial screenshot means the ability to select only a portion of the display for screenshotting, rather than capturing the entire screen and later cropping it in a third-party app.

This function is present but hidden, as in a small change in the Android source code is required to enable it.

It is not clear so far if Google or other Android smartphone manufacturers will be enabling the feature in their Android 7.1 Nougat builds, but it will present a welcome change which will make taking screenshots a more convenient experience And more easily.

It has been discovered by android developers inside the open-source build of Android 7.1 Nougat.

We hope more such smaller additions, like perhaps scrolling screenshots, are made part of stock Android in the future.

Mobile Phone | Use your mobile phone at the wheel in Wales: New campaign, you could well end up being fined

Mobile Phone

Mobile Phone | Launched today, November 7th 2016, the enforcement operation will see officers pulling over motorists seen on their mobiles offenders could then face a £100 fine and three points on their license.

DRIVERS who use mobile phones at the wheel are being targeted in a crackdown by the four Welsh police forces.

South Wales Police roads policing inspector Martyn Stone said the message to drivers from police was a simple one - keep your eyes on the road.

"Smartphones are a key part of modern life and we are also seeing drivers being distracted whilst checking social media, reading their emails or accessing the internet. Drivers need to be aware that these actions carry the same danger and the same penalty.

He said: "Even experienced and competent drivers can be easily distracted and a slight lapse in concentration can have serious consequences.

"A lapse in concentration when driving can be devastating and this is why officers from all four Welsh forces will be carrying out proactive patrols to target motorists who endanger road users in this way."

"Our main message is clear; keep your eyes on the road.

Last year's mobile crackdown saw 500 Welsh drivers caught by police.

The 2016 operation is being backed by the charity, Road Safety Wales.

Chairwoman Susan Storch said: "Campaigns such as this demonstrate the resolve of all the Road Safety Wales partners in tackling this issue and we will continue to work together to drive home the message of not using your mobile phone behind the wheel.

"Driving a vehicle requires us to multi-task so anything above and beyond that needs to wait until we are safely parked up or until our journey has finished.

"No call or text is that important."

The crackdown comes as figures show a dramatic fall in the number of drivers stopped for using phones around the UK — last year some 95,000 drivers were pulled-over, compared to 178,000 in 2011-12.

The Police Federation said the drop was due to fewer traffic officers on the roads as a result of budget cuts.

Under new rules expected to come in next year, drivers will get six points on their licence and face a £200 fine. says south wales evening post

Apple mobile phone - iPhone 7

Mobile Phone | There's no doubt that the iPhone 7 is a flagship smartphone from ِApple and an improvement on the 6S and Which was awaited by many of Apple fans around the world, But what is the new, submitted by Apple in new phone, actually, the iPhone 7 is an evolution of the 6S but with some enhancements.

If you think the 1334x750-pixel screen is a disappointment. Far from it. Yes, it is the same resolution Apple has always used for the 4.7in iPhone and yes, you can buy phones with 2560x1440 resolutions for less, but this all misses the point: 326 pixels per inch is plenty. It was plenty when the iPhone 4 came out, and it's plenty today.
The iPhone 7 is rated to IP67, which means you can take it 1m underwater for 30 minutes.

Another improvement in terms of performance is the A10 Fusion processor. The iPhone 7 is the first Apple phone to get a quad-core CPU. Like many Android phones, it uses two low-power cores when you're doing undemanding tasks such as creating a new calendar appointment, but when you load up a graphically intensive game, it switches to a pair of much more powerful cores to give you the best performance.

One of the iPhone 7’s biggest upgrades is its cameras. The main camera has been completely upgraded. The sensor is new, as is the lens. It may have the same resolution as the 6S – 12Mp – but this is valuable and noticeable improvement.
The sensor supports a wider colour gamut (as does the screen) and the lens has an aperture of f/1.8. That lets in 50 percent more light than the f/2.2 lens on the 6S.

Also, this is the first time Apple has put optical stabilisation in the smaller iPhone, which markedly improves sharpness in low light photos.

You can expect very, good-looking photos from the iPhone 7. In fact, with the new image processor, it’s one of the best cameras  on a smartphone and it’s up there with the Galaxy S7
The rear camera it was upgraded from 5Mp to 7Mp. In combination with the new image processor, photos now have more detail and fewer artefacts.

Aside from the underwhelming battery life, The iPhone 7 is an excellent phone. It’s waterproof, has fantastic cameras and performance, and the new stereo speakers sound great. There’s now 32GB of storage as a minimum, which helps to mitigate the higher prices.

Overall, the iPhone 7 is an evolution of the 6S, so if you were expecting a revolution you’ll probably be slightly disappointed.  If you have an iPhone 6s, it’s hard to justify upgrading (even for some people with a 6) but if you’re out of contract and want a small phone, it’s the best Apple has made yet. says pcadvisor
